Stacy
Hi there! I'm a complete health and fitness nut, and have spent years soaking up knowledge in both areas, so I thought it might be nice to share what I've learned. I love fitness, sports, food, cooking, baking, and I love eating! I try to live a very healthy lifestyle combining lots of exercise with lots of healthy eating. I now live in the amazingly classy San Diego since I graduated from UCLA in '08 in Computer Engineering. While I am engineer by day, I have just become a certified personal trainer. This really wasn't too much of a task since I spend much of my spare time learning about this kind of stuff anyway!

I have always been very into health as a subject and have been relatively active since I was young. I played basketball through grade school, but my unhealthy eating habits had me a bit pudgy through junior high and the beginning of high school despite being a cross-country runner. When I realized I needed to be eating healthier, I did my best to eat what I thought was healthy. It really took me years to figure out what was truly healthy and has been an ongoing process. My love for fitness was truly reignited during college, and now I can't get to the gym often enough.

The Blog
I started this blog with two purposes. I wanted it to be not only a healthy food blog but also a fitness blog. I have a lot of information on both subjects that I want to share with anyone who needs it. As a Certified Trainer, I spend lots of time researching exercise and nutrition and I spend tons of time experimenting with it on myself. Generally, this blog serves as a daily showcase of what I eat and how I exercise to show readers my way of doing things. Eventually more tips and tricks will be integrated into the flow information as well. Readers will get to experiment with new food trends and exercises right along with me. The advice given on this blog is simply from personal experience and is not meant to substitute a doctor's recommendation.

Food
I have always loved food. I love making food and I really love eating food, especially food that tastes amazing. Finding a balance between eating delicious food and healthy food is difficult, and it is my opinion that you shouldn't have to sacrifice one or the other. I eat very healthy all week and allow myself one "cheat" a week (which usually means a decadent dessert), just to keep myself sane. You can never completely deny yourself a food that you love or you'll go nuts! I follow somewhat of a combination of the Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle and Eat Clean diets. I don't follow either one specifically, but I have found that what works for me incorporates a little of both. This means 6 smaller meals a day with a healthy combination of protein/carbs/fats at each one. Fresh is best; I eat mostly fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins like eggs, fish and chicken. I am working on going a little more raw and quasitarian and have been trying to get the majority of my protein from fish, eggs, and vegetarian options instead of meat. I try to eat as little processed food as possible and have slowly begun making my own dips, dressings and breads. This blog will give you a glimpse into what I eat every day to fuel my very athletic life as well as keep me feeling great.

Fitness
The main reason I eat so healthy is to fuel my body for the work I put it through. I usually lift weights 5 days a week for about an hour and do at least 20-60 mins of cardio 6 days a week. When I miss a workout, I feel slugish and useless the rest of the day, so I think exercise is vitally important for maintaining energy and health. No healthy lifestyle excludes exercise. Since this is such an important part of life, I have decided to become a certified trainer. This is more for myself than really to use as a job or anything, but I've always thought it might be fun to teach a few classes in the evening. We'll see what happens.

Loves
Of course I love my new home right near the beach which I share with the two greatest roomies ever: my boyfriend (known throughout the blog as simply "the BF") and my dog Eva. We have just recently added another roommate to our full house! Below is Wall-e, Eva's brand new buddy and partner in crime!
